Description
This session will focus on when and how to use hair transplant surgery to improve and/or correct areas of the face. Common facial areas to receive hair transplants are the eyebrows, eyelashes and the beard. Specific techniques are employed when transplanting hair to the face, and these will be discussed in detail.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of the activity, the learner should be able to:
- Understand when hair transplant surgery may be used to correct or improve facial hair
- Understand how to plan for the use of hair transplantation on the face
- Understand the technique to perform these procedures

Practitioners in the field of cosmetic surgery including, but not limited to, dermatology, general surgery, and plastic/reconstructive surgery.

About the Speaker
Dr. Marco Barusco is originally from Brazil, where he did his initial training in General Surgery. In 1998 he moved to the US where he pursued specialized training in Hair Restoration Surgery. His practice, Tempus Hair Restoration, is dedicated exclusively to hair restoration surgery and is located in Port Orange, Florida.
Dr. Barusco is the Medical Director for Tempus Hair Restoration and serves as Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Medicine in Orlando, Florida. He is a Diplomate, Examiner and Past-President of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS), the current Co-Chair of the Education and CME Committee of the AACS, and the current Chair of the American Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ASHRS).
