Sheila Barbarino, MD, FAAO, FAACS, FACS

Dr. Barbarino graduated cum laude from University of Southern California, received her Medical Degree from Sidney Kimmel Medical College, formerly Jefferson Medical College, and completed her residency at the prestigious Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital/New York University. Dr. Barbarino continued her pursuit of excellence in surgery fellowships in oculofacial plastics, facial cosmetic surgery, and in general full body cosmetic surgery. Dr. Barbarino also has authored and co-authored more than 15 published papers, served as a principal investigator for ongoing research studies, led international as well as national workshops, and has been featured in podcasts, Access Hollywood, Real Self, Modern Aesthetics, Aesthetic Authority, Healio, Healthline, Health Front TV, and more.

As a female surgeon, Dr. Barbarino recognizes the need to see patients with a woman’s perspective. Accordingly, she addresses specific women’s concerns with a woman’s perspective –jowls, turkey necks, excess skin, droopy eyelids etc. She empathizes with her patients’ desire to look refreshed, well rested, and to look like the best version of themselves. Dr. Barbarino helps her patients of all genders achieve their own personal goals that cannot be accomplished through hard work at the gym or through a good, healthy lifestyle alone.

Dan Georgescu, MD, PhD

Dr. Dan is double-board certified by the American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery (ABFCS) and the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO). He specializes in the cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids, orbit and face and in non-surgical cosmetic treatments such as Botox and fillers. He is an expert in eyelid, brow, mid-face and lower face-lifting procedures. He also specializes in endoscopic lacrimal surgery and pediatric oculoplastic surgery.

Dr. Dan is a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS), the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) and the European Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ESOPRS).

After finishing medical school in Europe, Dr. Dan completed his Doctorate in Neuroscience at Yale University and UT Southwestern Medical Centers followed by 4 years of Ophthalmology residency training at the John Moran Eye Center, University of Utah in Salt Lake City. Dr. DAN further sub-specialized in Oculofacial Plastic Surgery with the internationally renowned eyelid and facial plastic surgeons, Dr. Richard Anderson and Dr. John McCann at the Center for Facial Appearances (2-year ASOPRS fellowship), also in Salt Lake City. After fellowship training, Dr. Dan became an Oculofacial Plastic Surgery Professor at the Johns Hopkins Medical Center where he trained many residents and fellows.

Dr. Dan has been in practice for 10 years and has successfully performed over 7,000 surgeries. He has authored over 40 peer-reviewed articles, published in the most prestigious scientific journals, and 3 book chapters. He is often invited as speaker and lecturer to meetings in the United States and abroad and has given over 100 lectures and scientific presentations.

Dr. Dan is currently in private practice in South Florida, and serves as Clinical Assistant Professor at Nova Southeastern University, where he teaches young ophthalmologist and optometrists the art of facial cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Dan dedicates a large portion of his time to community outreach throughout Broward County. He has also joined many humanitarian missions over the past 12 years, to Nepal, India, Cambodia and Romania where he has performed hundreds of oculofacial procedures and has trained the local doctors his advanced and innovative surgical techniques.

A former marathon runner and opera choir singer, Dr. Dan enjoys South Florida by engaging in many outdoor and cultural activities with his family and friends.

Donovan Reed, MD

Dr. Reed was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with Honors from East Tennessee State University with a degree in Chemistry and minors in Biology and Anthropology. He was then commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force and graduated as class Valedictorian from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland, where he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society. Dr. Reed completed his Internship in General Surgery and his Ophthalmology Residency at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium where he served as Chief Resident and Clinical Instructor of Surgery for the Uniformed Services University School of Medicine. Dr. Reed has also served at the national level on the American Academy of Ophthalmology Committee for Resident Education. He has published multiple peer-reviewed manuscripts, chapters, and abstracts, and presented his research at national and international meetings. He has also served as a reviewer for scholarly publications. Dr. Reed has participated in multiple surgical humanitarian missions and is a faculty instructor for the Hawaiian Eye Foundation. He has received multiple awards for academic excellence his research endeavors, including recognition by Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges and the Dr. Kenneth L. Piest Award for Excellence in Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery Research. Dr. Reed will be with TOC Eye and Face for two years during which he will complete his two-year ASOPRS Fellowship and one-year AACS Fellowship.

Mohsen Naraghi, MD

Dr. Mohsen Naraghi is a clinical board faculty of Tehran University with academic postgraduate teaching experience in rhinology and facial plastic surgery since 1994.

He ranked first among all the graduates of medicine, awarded first in the National Comprehensive Medical Examinations and graded first in the National Board Examinations in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery after which, he continued his training in facial plastic surgery and rhinology fellowship and became fellow of the European Board of ORL-HNS.

The national award for the best research in surgery was presented to Dr. Naraghi. He was also granted the international award for excellence in the category of innovation in clinical medicine. Mohsen Naraghi was winner of the international award of the American Rhinologic Society. Dr. Naraghi is the fellow of American Rhinology Society and member of American Academy of Facial Plastic Reconstructive Surgery. He is currently the president of the Rhinology Research Society.

More than three hundred articles and chapters in rhinology and facial plastic surgery including eighty international papers were published by Dr. Naraghi. He has instructed in more than fifrty courses, hands-on and live surgery workshops on endoscopic surgery,rhinoplastyand facial plastic surgery throughout the world including rhinoplasty courses in the American Academy of Facial Plastic Reconstructive Surgery Meetings.

Dr. Naraghi has published seventeen books in the fields of rhinology and facial plastic surgery, including two-volume comprehensive rhinology textbook. He was also bestowed the title of “The Best Academic Book of the Year” in 2007, entitled “Facial Plastic Surgery”.

Gabriel H. Patino, MD

Dr. Patino is the Chief Medical Director of The Cosmetic Surgical Center of El Cerrito, in El Cerrito, California.

Dr. Gabriel H. Patino graduated from medical school at the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara in 1981 at the age of 22. He began training in a level I Trauma Center at the Highland General Hospital U.C. Davis General Surgery East Bay Program after graduating from medical school. Dr. Patino then completed his internal medicine residency at the California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. Dr. Patino is Board Certified and Re-Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

 In 2005, Dr. Patino opened the Cosmetic Surgical Center of El Cerrito. Dr. Patino performs cosmetic surgical procedures with minimal sedation by mouth and tumescent anesthesia. The Cosmetic Surgical Center Of El Cerrito ambulatory facility also offers general anesthesia and intravenous sedation.

Dr. Patino’s techniques include the transumbilical breast augmentation, breast lift, breast reduction, extended abdominoplasties and a variety of liposuction techniques, fat transfers to the breasts and buttocks under ultrasound guidance, hair transplants and facial surgery (2005). He introduced SmartLipo™ to his practice (2010).

Steven J. Cyr, MD, FAAOS

Dr. Cyr received top honors at Southwest Texas State University by graduating Summa Cum Laude and Valedictorian with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. In addition to rigorous academics, he was also a member of the Bobcat football team during his three years at SWTSU.

Dr. Cyr gained early acceptance into medical school and earned his M.D. from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He then began his service to the United States Air Force with a transitional internship at Wilford Hall Medical Center. He served the air force community as a flight surgeon for two years before beginning residency training in orthopedic surgery at Wilford Hall.

Following residency, Dr. Cyr was honored to be chosen from among the country’s top residents as the only fellow for the highly competitive and prestigious combined Orthopaedic and Neurosurgical spine surgery fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. This training program has ranked number one for orthopedic and neurosurgical training programs in America for more than 20 years. Mayo combines these two fields, giving their surgeons an understanding of nerve and spine function unparalleled in most other programs.

Upon completion of his fellowship, Dr. Cyr and his family moved to San Antonio, where he served the military population as the Chief of Air Force Spine Surgery and Spine Surgery Consultant to the Surgeon General of the Air Force and Pentagon. For six years, Dr. Cyr taught orthopedic surgery residents, physician assistant fellows, and medical students at Wilford Hall and The Uniformed Services University for the Health Sciences. He also was deployed twice to Iraq where he served our war-wounded soldiers and civilian casualties of war at the Air Force Theater Hospital in Balad.

He brought innovative techniques to the military and was the first to perform the total disc replacement procedure as well as endoscopic spinal surgery. He specializes in complicated spine conditions and has gained notoriety for successful repairs of failed surgeries on patients from numerous other states and around the world. Dr. Cyr’s expertise and skills have earned top recognitions including being named a Texas Super Doctor, America’s Top 10 Orthopaedic surgeons, and Castle Connelly Top Spine Surgeon for multiple years. His patient testimonials are proof of his compassion, superior care, and his drive for excellence and quality. His training and character keep him at the leading edge with outcomes rarely seen in the delicate field of spine surgery.

Aliza Epstein, MD

Dr. Epstein was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Her passion for medicine started at an early age being positively influenced by her father who is a respected Oculofacial Plastic Surgeon in South Florida. She attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois where she majored in Psychology while pursuing pre-medical endeavors through her studies as well as clinical research. She traveled back to South Florida to attend the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha, national medical honor society. While at the University of Miami, Dr. Epstein helped provide free vision screenings and eye care throughout South Florida through the Department of Community Service (DOCS) program, where she held multiple leadership positions.

Dr. Epstein received the prestigious John K. Robinson Grant, allowing her to publish multiple peer-reviewed articles and present at numerous national and international meetings during medical school. She completed her internal medicine internship at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital in New York City, and ophthalmology residency at the Kresge Eye Institute in Detroit, Michigan, where she was elected to be chief resident during her final year. She followed her passion for oculofacial plastic surgery, completing a two-year American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) fellowship with TOC Eye and Face, where she performed thousands of surgeries. During that time, she also completed an American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS) fellowship focusing on facial cosmetic surgery. As a board-certified ophthalmologist, Dr. Epstein has published numerous peer-reviewed book chapters and articles in ophthalmology and oculofacial plastic surgery.

Dr. Epstein is committed to providing excellent care for her patients at TOC Eye and Face. Aside from work, Dr. Epstein enjoys photography, reading, traveling, hiking, and biking.

Walter Tom, MD, FACS, FAACS

Cosmetic surgeon Walter Tom, MD, has a personal mission statement: Improve patients’ self-confidence by enhancing their self-image with advanced technology and education in a warm, safe and secure environment. After a distinguished career as a general, vascular and transplant surgeon, Dr. Tom founded the Aesthetic Laser & Vein Centers in Santa Rosa. He opened a second office in Napa and, more recently, founded Maui Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. Tom has been honored with the prestigious Press Democrat “Best Cosmetic Surgeon in Sonoma County” award four consecutive years and his office also won “Best Aesthetician” in 2019.

Dr. Tom and his team specialize in advanced, minimally invasive skin care, such as HydraFacial, chemical peels, photofacial IPL, Clear+Brilliant, Fraxel, CO2 laser resurfacing, thermage, threadlifts, laser hair removal, spider vein sclerotherapy, fillers, Sculptra, Kybella, Botox and Dysport. He is a member of the American Society of Liposuction Surgeons, American Academy of Cosmetic Physicians, American Society of Cosmetic Breast Surgery and the American College of Phlebology. Dr. Tom is a proud Diplomate of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery and the American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. Tom graduated from the University of Michigan and attended medical school at Wayne State University School of Medicine. He completed his general and vascular surgical residency at William Beaumont Hospital and his organ transplant fellowship at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. As chief surgeon, he co-founded the kidney transplant program at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. He also helped established laparoscopic, minimally invasive abdominal surgery in Sonoma County. Later, Dr. Tom created the Aesthetic Laser & Vein Center of the North Bay.

A consummate educator, he enjoys speaking nationally and internationally, as well as training surgeons and paraprofessionals in cosmetic surgery and other procedures. He is featured weekly on KSRO’s Ask the Expert. Dr. Tom has lived in Santa Rosa for 34 years. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, listening to music and playing ice hockey.

Arian Mowlavi, MD, FACS

Dr. Mowlavi is a board-certified plastic surgeon who is a world-renowned body sculptor and high definition body contouring expert. Dr. Mowlavi’s breast and body results are acclaimed internationally with clients flying to our Newport Beach center from around the globe for their surgical needs. Dr. Mowlavi has over 20 years of surgical experience and has performed well over 15,000 procedures to date. Dr. Mowlavi has developed many of the high definition body protocols used by surgeons throughout the world, including his “High Definition Body Scale and Protocol” and “Buttocks Assessment Tool”. Dr. Mowlavi is also an avid writer with over 50 peer-reviewed publications and a regular presenter at the cosmetic and plastic surgery national meetings.
